Ollie Sayer"I am 22 and am from the Wirral. I am currently in my final year at the University of Derby and study a BA (Honours) in Sport Management.
I was introduced to swimming with my local swimming club at the age of 8 and went on to swim for Wirral Metro under Paul. I've won age group titles at Cheshire and Regional level in breaststroke and freestyle and have also been a national age group finalist. After my untimely retirement from swimming I was selected to be part of the National Young Coaches Academy in which Paul supported and mentored. I have gained both teaching and coaching qualifications within the sport of swimming and was proud to coach Wirral Metro's age group development squad for 18 months prior to going to university. I am looking forward to working with Paul and Skills4Podium to help the swimmers reach their full potential." |
Tom NelsonI am a former GB international swimmer and have graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in (BA Hons) Sport Development.
After spending some time away from the sport, I now work as a swimming coach and teacher. I am a believer in the holistic approach to coaching. Paul was my coach when I swam at Wirral Metro, guiding me to honours at county, regional, national and international level. I now work at Wirral Metro as a coach heading up the Swim Wirral Academy and working for numerous swimming schools. My passion for swimming began at a young age; what I lacked in talent I made up for with my work-ethic, drive and determination to succeed. I also have a process-driven mentality, essentially wanting athletes under my supervision to be engaged and positive about their experiences. I am looking forward to working again with Paul and Skills4Podium. |
